Slimbridge Village Hall was opened in September 1930.

Funded by proceeds from village fetes, the Hall is attached to the Old Schoolroom, and was built to provide additional space for Slimbridge entertainment and social events.

From the very beginning, the hope was the Hall would gather round it happy associations and would become a centre of true and happy fellowship.

Nearly 100 years on, the Hall has flourished. Extensions and recent modernisation mean that we now have a warm and welcoming facility that supports all aspects of village life. Local societies, groups, family gatherings, all are welcome, ensuring that the original vision and aspirations continue to be supported.

Chairman of the Management Committee Michael Bennett.

Michael, a retired Chartered Valuation Surveyor and Estate Agent has lived in the village for 34 years.

Secretary of the Management Committee Nia Wills.

Nia has been the secretary of Slimbridge Village Hall since retiring as a physiotherapist in 2014. Nia now lives in Coaley having lived in the village with her family from 1992 until 2019.

Treasurer of the Management Committee Phil Butcher.

Phil moved into the village in 2018 after retiring from a career in Financial Services. He joined the management committee in 2020.

Committee member Anne Jones.

Anne has lived in the village for 30 years and joined the committee 5 years ago.  Anne is the parish council representative for St John’s church, along with the Bridge Group whom she also represents.
